Erectile Dysfunction - A Man's Worst Nightmare!!!

Only twice in my 40+ years of having sex. My new gf (wife now) and I had a marathon weekend of sex. We wanted another round and as much as I wanted to it just wouldn’t work. Made up for it later.
The second time was with my wife many years later both late 50’s and she actually wanted sex. Off we go. She cums twice and I start pooping out, got a bad leg cramp and I lost interest…..and my erection. I think that was the last time we had sex. 😢

Most of my problems where due to high blood pressure from other drugs like DayQuil. I found out that most of my health problems were due to my testosterone treatments, including high BP. Viagra does work well and seems to knock every wrinkle out of my cock. I have quit taking testosterone cream and it seems to have helped with a lot of health issues. I am very sluggish, but I wasn't sleeping well cause of the cream so I don't feel any worse.

Here's a question for mainly the middle-aged guys i guess. Have you or do you experience issues in "getting it up"? Since hitting my mid-fifties I have noticed that it is no longer possible to get instant erections just by looking/fantasising but a helping hand is needed to gently rub those balls and penis. However what happens when even this only produces a semi hard-on? My saviour was Cialis and Viagra. The advantage of the former is that it lasts for up to 36 hours as opposed to just four hours. I have tried both but found that Viagra causes grogginess and headaches whereas Cialis is super good and lets me get hard whenever the need arises (which either through sex or masturbation) is probably five times a week (although with Covid and shut-down the frequency has increased dramatically). No more fear either that i might go soft part way through intercourse. The question is for those who have used these products which one would you recommend? I have mentioned the two most well known ones but there are others such as vacuum pumps, implants and herbal medicines etc etc
I have tried both. Viagra gave me a bad headache.Docter put me on 5mg
Cialis daily have wonderful elections and it works wonderful. Wife is now satisfied.

Update on my situation. I turn 64 next week and still am able to get an erection when masturbating. The wife was diagnosed with a prolapsed uterus which causes extreme pain during penile penetration. Therefore she has no inspiration for intercourse. On top of that she has a mental hang up that the only way I can enjoy sex is full vaginal penetration. We’ve not had sex in nearly two years.

After too many years of slowly going from rock hard, to barely hard, to not hard at all, I took my first 5mg Tadalafil tonight.

Here's hoping for a good result.

While we orgasm regularly, I sure miss penetration of her wonderful holes.

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you

Sweet Cheeks So far, so good. I was started on 5mg, a fairly low dose daily. Spontaneity really is our thing, taking a pill and waiting would most likely mean never taking a pill.

While "they" said it may take up to 5 days to build up in my system for best results, the next morning, while not fully erect, there was at least enough to slip it partially in her butt. Typically, I'm an every couple days person, while she's a once a week, so most mornings, she turns her butt towards me to enjoy. It had only been a couple days for her, hence the back door.

It is great to see the sharing of experiences on this thread and the openness without any embarrassment of everybody facing ED. That is the great thing about this site - a chance to be yourself and open up about life's daily events. So thank you Candela for setting it up.
By way of an update on myself, I switched back to the Viagra last week as the Cialis was no longer working for me in the way that it did initially. I still woke up with morning erections most days, but after these wore off then Mr floppy took over. I could still get semi-hard in order to orgasm during masturbation. As far as intercourse was concerned when I did get an erection I then found it took ages to ejaculate - if at all.
As mentioned above I have reverted to Viagra and am now on a 50mg dose. I am finding that it is more effective than in the latter days of taking Cialis but it could be better. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow for a routine prostate examination and will discuss the likelihood of increasing the dosage to 100mg which I was previously taking.
Although not having the same negative side effects as before, the downside is the amount of time it takes to work. My wife and I used to enjoy spontaneous sex in the middle of the night (1am, 2am etc) whilst on Cialis which isn't always possible now.
Hopefully everything will resolve itself - until then "onwards and upwards" (pun definitely intended 😃)

I too suffer from ED. Started about the time of my cancer diagnosis. Tumor is gone but so are the days of erections without medication. Doing 50mg Viagra at the moment. May see about increasing as my body adjusts to immunotherapy sessions.
